AC Question

Hi!
I broke my back glass, and i dont know now if i can still put my samsung galaxy s7 in water.

I have also cracked glass on back a little bit, and i put it in water, and it works fine, i saw that on the back glass is also plastic glued with glass screen

I also would not suggest exposing the device to water after having the back glass cracked. Although the user above had no issues, your glass may be worse then theirs and it's safer to not try. I would also suggest sticking a case on it to prevent further damage or exposure to water.

I would assume it is not longer water resistant. The glass is likely to let water seep into the phone internals. To be safe, my best bet is no. Hope this helps!

Okay, first, the Galaxy S7 has NEVER been waterproof. It's water-resistant, there's a difference.

Second, it depends on the amount of glass that was cracked, or removed.

There is no difference between waterproof and water resistant....they are just words . What counts is a rating such as IP68 which specifies resistance to water ingress as per test specifications.

It's time to stop using water proof to indicate higher protection than water resistant.

Also , there are apps and tests that a user can do to see if the phone is momentarily holding air pressure ( how the barometer function works). Similar to final assembly and repair tests to verify water resistance.
