Sorry you misunderstood heatherrunkel; I never compared the iPhone battery life to the GS3. I simply stated that it could be improved upon because I want better battery life. I do stop apps from running in the backround but I will not sacrifice brightness and endure a dim screen unless it is in a dark enough environment. I am happy with the solution I found in a bigger battery and trust once it arrives it will work well. I had the same problem with the iPhone 4 as I said before; I bought a battery case for it.
I did however compare screen brightness and since I have both and can plainly see the difference as well as other reviewers, so I stand by what I say.
Interesting excerpts here:
"Highlighting the test results is the iPhone 5′s record-setting contrast rating — directly correlating with increased visibility in bright lighting conditions. The iPhone 5′s score of 121 bested the iPhone 4′s 77 and crushed the S3′s range of 45-57.
Soneira blames the S3′s power management for its low scores in both contrast and brightness. That sounds like something that could be remedied with a software or ROM update. However, Samsung needs to work harder on power management as its OLED display tests as being about half as power efficient as the LCD in the iPhone 5."
So Samsung "could" be sacrificing lower brightness for better battery life. Not sure.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs. iPhone 5 display shoot-out: Apple wins again | ExtremeTech
"The two devices have different tech in regards to their displays. Apple has the Retina display and Samsung have gone for the Super AMOLED screen. The latter has blacks that are much deeper and colours that have vibrancy. Some people though prefer the natural look that the iPhone 5 offers as well as the higher brightness levels"

Should I just keep googling unbiased reviews over and over or should I not believe my own eyes and believe you? NOT. It's too obvious. Can you give me some reviews to prove otherwise as far as brightness is concerned?
I know that if I had never mentioned I owned an iPhone 4 I would have been a good Android fanboy and accepted as such. All I can say is WOW... I am simply giving my honest opinion of what I see and I reiterate that I am really liking the SG3, whereas I previously considered trading it back in for an iPhone 5. It's just a matter of getting used to Android. I also see you are a noob to this thread as well as I so I know how that goes.
By the way here is one on iPhone 5's battery life compared to the SG3 as well as brightness
"And here’s what it found when looking at the Galaxy S3′s 4.8-inch panel:
[…]here are the Highlights: the Brightness is about half of the iPhone 5 due to power limits from the lower power efficiency of OLEDs and concerns regarding premature OLED aging. The Color Gamut is not only much larger than the Standard Color Gamut, which leads to distorted and exaggerated colors, but the Color Gamut is quite lopsided, with Green being a lot more saturated than Red or Blue, which adds a Green color caste to many images. Samsung has not bothered to correct or calibrate their display colors to bring them into closer agreement with the Standard sRGB / Rec.709 Color Gamut, so many images appear over saturated and gaudy. Running Time on battery is less than the iPhone 5 due to the lower power efficiency of OLEDs, even given that the Galaxy S3 has a much larger battery capacity and much lower Brightness."
