The title says it all. Please share your empirical input, please.
Thanks. ;)

In one word, yes! Great build quality, great screen, very capable camera, very decent battery life, and quick charge. I love the texture and placement of the power button. My previous phone was the M8, I pre-ordered the 10 on launch day with Sprint, and It has run flawlessly since then. There are a few things i miss, the first one being the front facing speakers. The 10 has better speaker sound than most, but it's not on par with the M8. On the flip side, the headphone quality on the 10 is phenomenal! Next is, no htc gallery app, hate the goggle photo app. Lastly, no htc music app. Hate the google music app, so I replaced it with Black music player, liked it so much, I paid for Black player EX. Problem solved. If you like htc, I have no doubt, in my IMHO, you will like/love the 10 moving from the M8.

Thanks for your answer. :)
From the reviews I've read the speakers have a lower sound volume but the quality is superior, meaning, you fell the bass a little more than the M8 when your seeing a YouTube video in a quite place, is that not true?
And is it really faster / smoother than the M8, even after performing a reset on the M8?

Cheers

The phone is a great upgrade from the M8, although not with the speakers. Quieter, and am not sure about better quality. The speaker is too small to expect any real bass to be produced. The real upgrade is in the DAC. The sound quality of earphone audio is one of the best out there. You can test and create custom profiles for your earphones. I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade.

Yes. I had the M7 and passed on the 8 and 9. I really needed a new phone at this point and went for the 10. All in all you will be happy. The speakers are a let down but not the worst around. It takes a fantastic picture which is a plus for HTC, it wasnt full of bugs from day 1, and now its even cheaper than when released. At worst you can return it if you arent happy.

I've kept my M8 as a spare, and still like going back to it, particularly the soft screen off menu button, which is missing from the 10. The 16GB was getting a problem for me, so the 32GB of the 10 is liberating. The camera is a lot better in the centre, but a bit soft at the corners. The fingerprint scanner is so good, I use that in preference to location Smart Lock, which can be flaky. The headphone sound is stunning, and tuneable profiles are great for me, being largely deaf in one ear. It's understated and classy in the graphite. I've never liked Samsung phone design. Battery life is excellent.

I still have and use my M8. I still love the phone. But the 10 is a very big upgrade. It's much faster and more responsive than the M8, especially now with Android N. It's a much better user experience. The others have touched on the key points about the headphone amp and the enormously improved camera.

I'll add, regarding the speakers, that there are apps which boost audio output, compensating for the lesser default speaker volume. In particular, Podcast Republic just added this feature. It works quite well.

With the discounts available on the 10 now, I think it's still a great buy.

Thanks to everyone who answered back and gave his opinion. After much thinking I decided to keep my HTC one m8 for a while longer since I'm still very satisfied with its performance. I've yet to try a htc 10 on person at a store since unfortunately no one I know owns one but I'll still probably just wait for the 11 and see what happens. The Smartphone I have is still very fast, smooth, almost no lags, nice sound quality from the headphone jack and the speakers, looks great and premium (I never use a case) so I won't be letting the upgrade bug bite me and make meu spend half of my monthly salary on a new one. It's the rational thing to do. If I were rich, though... ;)

Cheers

Yeah I'm like the other posters...HTC 10 is a great update but for me is telling that usually when I update a phone I put it in the graveyard cupboard.. But I still use my M8 as backup when I'm at home as it's still good enough...

Thats the jump I made, and zero regrets. The audio quality with headphones is awesome which is big factor for me. Also UI is close to vanilla but not quite vanilla, which I also like. My M8 is my at work music player now so I still use it alot.
