Is the DNA Still a Good Phone to Buy?

If I didnt already have a DNA and had an upgrade waiting to be used, I would take a DNA hands down over anything else out there currently. The ONE is the only other phone Id even consider, but I personally prefer the design and look of the DNA compared. Even though the ONE is my 2nd choice for sure.

Get a red or black seidio surface case,great ,thin case that goes well with the finest phone on the market.

If you need the added security, try the seidio active case. I have the red and black one (too match the DNA), and it looks and feels incredible.

Just ordered a Seidio the other day myself. Been going without a case since phone came out, figured I would try one out, see if i like it.

I like the One as well. Sadly I need a phone ASAP and Verizon doesn't have the One. But I am sure that I'll kick myself when they announce it next month, or so!

It is a great case. I have one on my Note 2, and dropped it a few times. It even protected my phone when I dropped it in the parking lot. The upper corner is chewed up as a result, but my phone is fine! Any particular reason you recommend red or black?

I have used both as well, and both are great cases. The fact that they're both around $50 with the holster makes my decision even harder. I preferred the Active, but when I would put my phone in my pocket the black would attract lint.

The Active is also a good case. I have one on my Galaxy Nexus.

I preferred the Active, but when I would put my phone in my pocket the black would attract lint.

I also have the Active in black, but like you, it collects lint like crazy, so the Surface is better for me until I need the kickstand.

That's the only downside to the Active. Other than that, it's a great case.

Like most new phones it does more than most of will ever use and the price keeps going down.
I can't say a bad thing about the phone.
That being said, the HTC Once is now officially coming to Verizon....I am guessing there will be plenty of used DNA's on the market (mine will probably be one them).

Well said. If money is an issue, then get the DNA at a heavily subsidized price...hopefully free. If money is not an issue, I would buy the HTC One in a heartbeat. DNA is a great phone with very good specs..some of the best on the market outside of battery size and memory.

My upgrade isn't available until July 7. Bah. The only issue I have with the One is the metal case. I really want the inductive charging and it just can't function with the metal case on the One. I believe the inductive charging works fine with the Seidio cases if I decide to not go naked.

I've been looking at the DNA for months now and, as long as I don't end up with the dang SIM card issue, it looks like the phone for me.

Edit: I just checked and VZ still wants $199 for the upgrade. Amazon offered me $49. WHY is VZ such a ripoff?

Id be half tempted to get a ONE if i had an upgrade on one of the lines so i could retain my DNA, but I wouldnt swap the dna straight up for a one. Just not enough to warrant the switch. Other than the speakers, I still prefer the look and style of the DNA compared.

VZW and other carriers pay for Amazon, Best Buy, and others to market their service. This allows those retailers to undercut what the carrier will sell it for. Works out for both the retailer and the carrier.

Don't think ull be disappointed indeed. Love this phone..much more than I thought I would. So many folks ask me what its called and where they can get one. Usually they're folks on other carriers so I have to disappoint them. Battery life and performance especially are way beyond my expectations on this thing. Atm it looks like only the Moto X or next Nexus might make me transfer this to my wife's line.
