I was just wondering if the new droid maxx is water resistant? I had the old Droid RAZR maxx and I know that one was.

I strongly suspect that it has the nanocoating, but, after having it open, I certainly wouldn't call it watertight!

fat-fingered and Maxx-ed out.

I know what nano coating is, if it does have a nano coating, why wouldn't it be water tight?

I think he was referring to the shell itself. It would be nice to get an official confirmation of the nano-coating.

My RAZR Maxx was not, hence the reason I'm on the Droid Maxx.

Water resistant yes to a low amount of water as in rain but not water proof so don't take selfies in the bath jk but drop it in a pool of water then it is messed up.

doogald,

I'm sorry, I missed that. Maybe I'm expecting Motorola to say "Verizon put that there by mistake" though? I've seen errors on promo pages before.

Thus May have been, answered earlier if so sorry for the repeat. But the droid has a water repellent coating it doesn't mean you can make it swimming or dunk it in a cup of water. It will just repel a small amount of water.

Wife dropped mine in the water at the boat ramp this weekend and got it out really quick. So far so good.

A nanno coating is usually applied on the motherboard and other enteral components of the phone so it dose not have to be water tight it only makes the components water proof

It's water repellent, not waterproof, so water will run off it, such as rain, but if dropped in water, it probably only hold water out very briefly, but it will find it's way in if it submerged for more than a brief few seconds.
