Is the G4 still a good buy?

So i have a Z3 and a Moto maxx, and enjoy them both. I'm looking to retire the Z3 because as much as i love the phone, the camera experience is so-so for me.

Nothing in 2015 really appealed to me, except for the G4's camera. I've owned a G Flex 2, so the UI isn't going to be too off putting to me.

Given the recent price drops in the wake of the G5's imminent release, is the G4 still a good buy? My Moto is still my daily driver, but for the sake of a phone mostly for the camera, is the G4 worth the hype?

Eh.. My first g4 sucked ***...had to replace it..and my new refurbished one is 100 times better. So my first impression on this phone was terrible..but since the new one it has grown on me. Why don't you look into the v10

Don't want a V10. It feels great but i need a compliment to my Maxx, not a replacement as daily driver. For the cost of the V10, I'd buy a 6P.

The G4 is the best phone out IMO. And now with the price cuts, it's even better.

What was wrong with your first one? I'm thinking about replacing mine as my touch screen seems a tiny bit iffy.

At the price now, it's an even better buy than when it was new.

The LG G5 is on its way, so the G4 may further drop in price once its launched.

If you're looking primarily for a camera, I recommend the G4 for the price. If you can wait until the G5 comes out it will probably be a steal. I think the G4 is neck and neck with the latest Samsungs as far as cameras go. Each one tends to handle different situations a little better, but in no cases have I thought the G4 was significantly inferior. What put it over the top for me was that for low-light situations, particularly indoors, the G4 was hands down the best. Other categories, sometimes I mildly prefer a Samsung and sometimes I mildly prefer a G4, but I find myself often taking pictures inside, and I think the G4 is the best for that. If I'm not mistaken, the V10 has the same camera, only with some nice new tools on the software side. But you can check out some of the G4 comparisons to cameras on other devices....I've found the articles which post their photos comparing shots to be pretty accurate and representative of what you'll get with the G4, as well as others.

Considering you can get the G4 for a good price now that the V10 is out, I'd say that it's a fantastic buy. Removable battery and SD card are huge. I also love that the screen is curved, but not so much that it feels gimmicky.
