Is the G4 still worth buying?

I've been a long time Android user, probably 8 years? In October I got an iPhone 6s, to try something new. I really don't like it. It isn't necessarily bad, but there isn't anything significantly or compellingly better about it.

I understand the G5 will come out this year, but probably not soon enough.

Thanks for coming back from the dark side. I say go with the v10 same as the G4 but with better camera software.

It is absolutely worth buying now! It is still LG's current flagship and will continue to be for a little while longer. I actually would choose it over the LG V10 because the LG G4 has a higher megapixel front-facing camera and a higher pixel density.

Yeah, the G4 is still a very good phone. Really liked the back buttons and camera, but I would only recommend the G4 if you don't mind the UI, occasional lag and mediocre battery life.

Yes but make sure you are not paying more than $400 range. The phone is a very good phone, and if purchased for that price it is an amazing deal. If budget is not a concern I would lean V10 or Note 5 whcih ever fits your needs more. (I have owned the G4 and Note 5, both are great)

I'd go with the v10 but g4 is a hell of a nice device.

I just got a G4 through Verizon and it has the same software as the V10. Full manual everything for the camera.

Due to sales and transfer offers, "worth buying" is very vague.

I got it for free. Worth buying full price? Maybe not, worth getting? Hell yea.

You get lag? I get none at all.

what lag, a millisecond? you can't blink your eyes fast enough to see any difference.

All good - answered in another thread. I picked up the V10, so I'm playing with it now. I did a factory reset and now I'm syncing contacts. Why is it syncing every single gmail address I've ever sent/received to (it's over 2000 now). Why wouldn't it sync just the 200+ contacts I have defined on contacts.google.com? I missed something ...

I know you've already purchased the device; but I agree with the posters who said the G4 would be worth the purchase. I have the G3 and absolutely love it; and I've only heard good things about the G4. Heck, I even liked the look of the G2 when it came out; what seems like many moons ago... ;).

I would think the G4 and the V10 have the same main/back camera - has anyone heard anything different?

When I was researching which one to get, all the reviews said the camera hardware is the same. The difference is the V10 adds manual controls to video recording. I think I read a comment that some of the XDA people are working on porting the V10 app to the G4, giving it those functions too.
