Is the G6 screen too dim?

I just checked the G6 at my local Verizon store and I really like the phone but I just found out the screen is not very bright ( I have to slide to 70%) I don't know maybe because it is run demo software. What about the retail unit? How bright is the G6 screen compare to other phone? Thanks.

It won't be bright if you are used to Amoled screens. You'll get used to it.. I keep mine on auto or under 50. It shows very well in the sun

Speaking of the screen has anyone had problems viewing the screen with polarized sunglasses?

The displays on the g6 are certainly inferior, even Huaweis lcd is way brighter than these things. I got two g6s and to equal the amoled off my cheap moto z play I was at 35% to the g6s 70%. On my mate 9 which is lcd is at 25% the g6 needs to be at 60%. At those levels I'm ripping through battery, sent them back and ordered a s8+. Cheap Lcd tech, it's a shame because I love the build of the g6 but it's display is certainly underwhelming. Man I wanted to like this thing too, very disappointing.

I keep it on default mostly but outside in the sun I can see it without an issue.

I keep mine on auto brightness. Sometimes I feel that I can't find it enough in low light situations (i.e. when I'm in bed in the morning and I don't want to wake my wife.) I haven't had any issues. I like keeping it on auto because of how well it adjusts itself so that it's easily readable in the sunlight.

I compared the screen at 100% brightness to the Galaxy S8 displayed beside it at 100% brightness. I was in a Verizon store, so you understand the type of lighting there was. I was very satisfied with the G6 brightness capability. I would guess the S8 was a tiny fraction brighter, but nowhere near enough to matter by comparison or in daily use. Auto brightness has worked well for me on the G6 in over a week of use in multiple lighting situations.

Yes the screen is way to dim..i have been noticing it for a few days now and it is driving me crazy.. I have to have mine up to 70% and it is draining my battery. Probably going to return it and get a v20.

I keep mine on 49% and it is fine for around the office or out and about - By the way I don't use "auto" for screen brightness

I have a V20, and it's screen is way too dim on auto. I wouldn't recommend that as a replacement if this is your issue. You may want to consider the Huawei Mate 9. I have that and the V20. No comparison despite the fact that both use LCD. The Huawei is way brighter. It's far quicker than the G6 or V20, and its 4,000 mAh battery is brilliant. I haven't had to recharge during the day yet regardless of usage.

I had that problem with my first G6, way too dim. Returned and bought another one and this one is great. Bright display and great battery life.

Thank you much.. Might just splurge for the s8 plus..
