galaxy s5 waterproof?

i accidentally dropped my s5 in a tub of water but i grabbed it out like in 3 seconds is the phone really waterproof? i took it apart and put it in some rice jsut incase.

i thought it was supposed to be water proof.
As long as you have the battery door on properly and the data port cover on it should be fine. No need to take it apart unless you had one or both of the covers off.

It's not water proof.

It's water resistant. 30 feet for 30 min. You will still get water under the cover but on the outside of the gasket

Probably not waterproof now you took it apart, but yes, it was waterproof enough to survive being dropped in a tub of water

Bottom of a swimming pool for an hour, full washing machine wash etc etc (Youtube videos) and they have all come out fine

It will be fine. I always use my s5 (original) in the rain and in the pool and it is awesome! I even record HD videos and take pictures underwater!!!

It is only Water resistant.

If you have an OEM back on it, you will be fine. If you have an aftermarket battery cover, who knows.
