Is the Incredible 2 not popular?

^true. But, I'm somewhat knowledgeable (albeit frugal), and I picked this phone over the SGII on Sprint and the upcoming SGPrime on VZW[?], and I also visit this forum (among others). Maybe DInc2 owners are just the exception to the rule.

Specs *sigh*...those in-the-know (and willing to drop coin) seek the best-est, and those not-in-the-know follow. My 2?.

Well I'm with you. I downgraded from a Thunderbolt to the Dinc2.

I am into tech. I have a number of gadgets. The inc2 is my 4th Android device. I picked it over the others because I wanted something that was bug free, had great battery and was relatively fast. Its an all around good phone that I can count on. Who needs a 4G device or a dual core if there are bugs and poor battery life. This is one of the better phones on Verizon partly becuase of its optimized software. I may eventually get a dual core 4G phone, but it will need to live up to the dependablity of this phone....and this thing is super fast for a single core phone.

Thank I all for your input. I'm currently looking into the Incredible 2. I want an Android phone to try out to see if this is the OS for me. I currently have webOS & love it, but HP is having issues. I want a phone I can tweak & make faster because I can.

DInc2 is awesome, imho. sad about webOS's lifespan...orphaned and never fully optimized by its owners.

I am a Thunderbolt owner. The reason our forum is so active and yours isnt is because our phone is a battery sucking piece of buggy crap and you all apparently like your phones. I needed a phone in January on Verizon to escape ATT. I really wanted the first Inc but didnt want to buy a year old phone when the TB was coming out soon and as far as I could tell the TB was the update to the Inc 1 which it really is. I held out till March for the TB and its been grief since. I was disappointed when the inc 2 came out eventually, since I cant get 4G where I live anyway and its not on the Verizon Horizon either ! Im thinking seriously of dumping the TB and going to the inc 2.

Sadly it seems like HTC like other manufacturers can't figure out how to make a bug free 4G phone yet. I got the inc2 because I didn't care about 4G at the moment, but I am curious to see what the 4G phones are like once they get the bugs worked out...I think it will be a while. Check out swappa.com. You could prolly sell your TB there and buy an inc2 there.

web OS I thought it was an awesome platform. Too bad in never took off. People are speculating that Facebook may buy the OS though. That would be interesting.

i upgraded to inc2 from og inc...i love this phone. only thing i do not like is the weak dev community (by weak i mean not a lot of devs). but, i did get spoiled with the og inc. there was dozens of more roms to chose from. so something was going to fit your style...pretty much a given. those phone is built well, fast as hell, and reliable. i do not regret getting it one bit. i do not want anything bigger than a 4 inch screen. unfortunately...looks like i may not have a choice the way the market is going these days.

I think its unpopularity stems from its lack of 4G or a dual-core processor. That should stop people from buying it, my DInc 2 is freaking awesome.

A lot of the developers are scattered about now because of all the different phones and carriers. I don't think any of us will see the development communities the d1, inc, or Droid x had. The inc2 does have a good number of roms but the development is getting stale. I haven't seen many new Roms in a while.

I think the market is all hyped on the 4g bandwagon and now 3g phones are getting a bit of a back hand... that is, if your not Apple. Its misguided but I think thats the main thing thats going on here...

I am also currently with webOS, but my first generation Palm Pre Plus is starting to fail. I have done extensive research (geek) and decided to go with Dinc2. I think I am going to be really happy with it. I can't wait until it gets here!

I love my dinc2...coming from blackberry I don't think I could have gotten a better non 4g phone...I don't need 4g and the 3g on my phone is plenty good for me...I feel the dinc2 is one of those best kept secrets In the Android world

I am coming from a Palm Centro and 2 months ago ended up getting a Dinc2 for me, my wife, and our daughter.
We all love our Dinc2s.
It was a big change from the PalmOS platform for me, a lot of annoying little things about Android compared with PalmOS, but there are so many good things that I think my paradigm has shifted... LOL

I was hoping to root at some point, but got blind-sided with the 2.3.4 update before I could do so.

I'm just one more vote for confidence in the Inc2. I love mine and will fight LTE to the last moment possible.

I also kinda got blindsided by the update and sometimes when i have to deal with the Vcast Music and Google Books updates i come close to taking the steps to reverting and rooting. Maybe I will wander over to XDA and see what they have to say about it.

Sorry, I'm might be wrong, but I think the 4g phones are still buggy. The reason why I went with Inc2 is because I have no need for 4g. Plus, newer technology always has bugs the first year. Will i get a 4g phone, probably not till 2013.

Hey what's the deal with the Google Books update? Are you talking about the updates that just never happen? The progress bar looks like it's going but no progress ever happens? Or do you have some other problem? I'm getting it with a handful of things, Books, Vcast, and some others I can't remember. I don't remember this originally. Did it come with 2.3.3? (I'm rooted and I blocked 2.3.4)

does anyone know how to add the droid sound to the incredible 2 during start up or maybe change the animation during start up looks like htc did away with the sound when you start up the phone. by the way, i am not rooted

After my 2.3.4 update my OG dinc had problems, after opening the lock screen I had to double tap to get the screen to work, had a battery drain problem and in market it was a sprint phone. I called text support and after 3 levels of bs and playing the I've been a verizon customer since 95 card, The girl gave me a like device which I demanded dinc 2 like new. This phone came stock with 2.3.4 out of the box. Its a great device,I have no complaints just praise . Came with extended battery and after heavy use all day it is seldom is below 50% power at night. HTC got this one right.

I still have my original and see no reason to change.
I mean the Dinc 1.

I don't think it's entry level, but people would have preferred 4g vs global IMHO.

I didn't upgrade because it wasn't a HUGE upgrade.

That being said, I like the size of it and want to get the same form factor as the DINC 2.

Perfect screen size, weight, etc.

Hope a Dinc3 will come out.

if you consider the price. You can't even get any of the dual core 4g phones for free and I see the dinc2 free all the time. I am just waiting till verizon offers a family data plan so I can upgrade and add one for my wife and son.
