Is the lack of an IR blaster a deal breaker in the Note 5?

For me never used them before that much so won't miss them. It would have been nice to have that option once in a while if you need them but definitely not a deal breaker.

When the IR blaster first started getting included I got pumped. Then I got a Logitech Hub and I never had a use for it. The Hub operated over WiFi and it is awesome. I have no need for the IR blaster where I might would want it 99% of the time.

I love it when certain folks here say I have no use for it so it's not needed. So I guess if I never use my AC in my car, it should not be needed in cars either, lol. How about its BETTER to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it?!? Same goes for SD card slots!

If I never use it I would never know the difference anyway. People complain about bloat for a reason. They don't use it.

It's a dealbreaker for me. I usually get these phones the day they come out, but I won't be getting this one. Won't get a phone that doesn't have an IR blaster.

I'm disappointed, because I want the N5, but won't give up the IR blaster on the N4.

I just bought a Note 5 today and I'm selling my S6. Sure, the IR blaster is a neat feature and I had my TVs set up to use my S6 as a control but I only used it twice. Not a big deal for me and I'm loving the Note 5!!

Well its not needed to those who don't use it. Also your example doesn't make sense here. IR blasters isn't at all a standard for all phones as AC is to a car in the modern day.

If only I could add a few more ir functions to my gear 2. I need a menu key and a samsung smart tv button and an exit button. Those don't come on the gear 2 ir blaster.

I don't see what the big deal is, nor do I understand the hate over Samsung not putting an IR blaster in the Note 5. It was unneeded bloat. You know the very thing the same hateful people are always stomping their feet over.

It's definitely not a deal-breaker for me, as I don't have a use for it. I still don't understand why Samsung removed it, but it wasn't one of the reasons that I didn't buy the Note 5.

It was a convenient feature, but not at all needed imo. I'll just go back to using remotes and voice command like the rest of the world.
