Is the mate 10 pro good enough.

And FHD+ on the Pro, while the regular LCD screen has 1440p, hmm i'm really puzzled what they tried to do here, might as well combine the two device, call it Mate 10 Ultra and price it at 600$, they gonna win so much...

That definitely makes more sense to me but manufacturers prefer to price high then drop it if it doesn't sell.

What they did with the Mate 10 is really stupid, i guess we have to see the devices personally so we can decide, plus there is no reason why both devices won't be IP68 with sd card, and a headphone jack.

The only word i can find to describe the M10 strategy is, Puzzling!

With interpolation on a$1k phone, you are looking at $200 off, which is still not that great considering that you can get a Verizon note 8 for $686 right now plus an extra $100 bb gc.

Or you an get a Verizon s8 for $470 plus an extra $100 bb gc.

Keep in mind this is current pricing, and black Friday is likely to have better deals

So true. I didn't even think about that. They're so late to the party, all the big guys already have already had price drops.

It is an odd choice... Regular with sd card but no ip rating, headphone jack and QHD, pro with no sd card or headphone jack, but with ip rating and only 1080p.

And high price, I'll see how mate 10 performs but definitely not gonna get it.

There is annoying hitching sometimes when i play songs on the Mate 9, mainly when screen off, it can happen anytime, never had this issue on S7E.

1080p is a sweet spot for phone display resolution. The battery life is going to be awesome

Couldn't agree more. Sure you can notice a little difference at Quad HD etc not enough to matter and definitely not enough to waste battery on. 1080p is plenty for a phone screen especially if Amoled.

I haven't noticed much of a difference on my note 8 on fhd or qhd in terms of battery life.

The biggest advantage for qhd is vr though. And that you will see the difference.

It really isn't a big deal... But at the price... It should be qhd, imo. And like Samsung they can give you the option to change the resolution.

I know my eyes can't tell the difference. And I appreciate the added battery life, even if it's not substantial.

Which is why I like Samsung's approach. You have the option of qhd or fhd,or even hd.

Very true. Though I think with emui 8 we will let us change it as well.
That could help with the mate 10, But that won't do any good in the case of the mate 10 pro which doesn't support qhd.

welp as the thread starter I figured id give an ipdate. i'm zero % excited about the Pro mate 10 :(.....

note 8, v30, mate 10 and the pixel xl is how'd id rate these recent released phones. next up u11+.

My mate 9 still feels solid compared to the above phones.

Might want to keep the mate 9 around till next year then. ;)

I think for now I'll skip the mate 10, let's see what HTC plus will bring, also it's quite puzzling that pro version omits headphone jack and sdcard, which both exist in the original Mate 10.

6gb is a must too, we need to see reviews about battery life from both

Yeah, waiting anxiously for reviews. A few early reviews here. Hopefully the more in-depth ones start popping up.
