Is the Note 2 still worth buying for off contact use?

I'm on a nexus 4 - will the note 2 have significant lag compares to the N4? How has your Note 2 aged in terms of battery life and speed?
Thanks!

I love my note 2, I haven't noticed any lag and the battery life seems even better after the 4.3 update.

Note 2 is still amongst the best phones out there. Great screen, camera and overall performance :-)

My phone has been personally acting WAY worse than before the 4.3 update. I get lag and a lot of apps that crash. My battery life is worse. I used to be able to make it roughly 2 days before needing a charge, now I can barely make it to midnight.

The only problem with note 2 is if you buy it used you'll have to get a new battery to get the best battery life. Also I wouldn't buy it brand new off tmobile unless you can't afford paying full price on swappa and want to use their jump program. I just switched to tmobile from Sprint and had note 2 with them. I bought an xperia z and although it's a great phone with great battery life and waterproof. But I missed my note 2 and just got a tmobile note 2 and I'm glad to have it back.

I rooted my phone and installed Jedi rom and my phone is awesome. I even got Google wallet installed and can use tap and pay and not have to deal with isis.

Should I spend 470 on note 2 or 760 on a note 3 or 540 on lg g2. Hard choice!

$540 on the G2 sounds like the best deal among those 3

I've had my note 2 for a year now and I still love it as much if not more then the first day I bought it. It's been my most favorite phone. I came from the samsung galaxy S series and I love Samsung phones, but I believe I'll be staying with the note series from now on.

Not sure if it is still available but I saw the tmobile Note II at Frys for $300 no contract a few weeks ago. My friend picked up a Tmobile Note 3 for $600 recently as well from Frys

I just bought the note 2 refurbished on tmobile. Does anyone think this is a good ideal. I just worry that the phone wont work for 2 years. i paid $350 with tax and overnight shipping and a new sim.

Roughly half the price of the Note 3. Sounds like a good deal :)

I got an AT&T branded GNote 2 for $239.99 on Ebay. Unlocked it and put my TMobile sim card. Best deal ever. Rooted with CM 11 4.4.2 Kitkat (Temasek v47.1). Seeder, greenify, and overclocked. This phone is ridiculously fast and smooth. And Wallet Tap and Pay working. Very happy.

I would say yes its still worth it to pick a note 2 today. I got mine back in January off swappa and coming from a galaxy s3 it's been a huge upgrade. Paired with the galaxy note 10.1 2014 I don't get the phone envy for the note 3.
