Is the Pixel 2 too small?

I definitely understand what you are saying, OP - going from the enormous Note 8 to the petite Pixel 2 would definitely be a learning curve! But I am sure you'll get the hang of it soon! So glad you are liking it! I too am excited to see what the Pixel 3 line brings to the table.

I personally like the size of the Pixel 2; but then again, my current phone is 5.2" and so going from that to the Pixel 2 (which I will be doing soon) will feel more natural to me.

Yes its just a bit too small. it feels smaller than other 5.0 inch devices. I feel 5.5 is the smallest a screen should be.

I think the bezels make the screen feel smaller. I've been getting used to the screen, I think I'll be fully adjusted within a week. I have my surface book 2 for when a large screen is needed :)

It is definitely an adjustment! Nonetheless I'm very happy with my purchase. Bought a square trade 3 year plan that carries over to whatever device I upgrade to in the future.. I think this was a much better value than preferred care, which doesn't give you a prorated refund on the event you chose to cancel the service in the future.

I loved the G6. It's only drawback was that it ran an older 821 processor and for me the battery optimization on the 835 was a deal breaker. It had an aggressively flat display that I absolutely loved.

Technically, it is inferior at battery consumption based on just nm process alone.

Sorry, I was answering the title question, not responding to your post. Apologies for the confusion!

I was trying to say it is not too small, but it is definitely too small.

I got a first gen pixel for my mother in law... And I happen to think it's a great size. I've been rocking large screens since the Nexus 6, and it being a 5" screen never bothered me at all when I've worked on it.

Yes, ideally they could have gone with a 18x9 display with the same physical size, but it is what it is. I used a G6 for a spell and it was a great form factor.. Shame the camera sucked sewage and the software got screwed up something fierce.... That being said, if someone wants a smaller factor phone, your not going to get a better one than the smaller P2.

Wow, that sounds like a great plan! Good for you for capitalising on it!

I could actually stand it a hair smaller, tbh.. I've never liked big phones for pocketability reasons mainly. I generally keep a tablet in my tech lineup if I need a bigger screen.

I can relate to this, minus the tablet. I liked the Pixel 2 a lot when I had it but it was just too tall for me in the end. I don't mind it being smaller either.

What did you end up getting?

I went back to iOS actually. I like small phones (like first gen Pixel and smaller) and after weighing everything, that was my best option. I love the idea of the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact but the changes from the XZ1 to that isn't enough for me.

As Morty said, you did make a huge adjustment. I hope you find a good middle ground for you.

Thanks.. I'm adapting quite well.

I'm not a fan of hybrid devices either. Once the screen gets to about 5.5" I don't really care for the size.

I don't think it's too small, but it's too small for me. As much as I loved it, I ditched it for the S9+. I missed having a bigger screen, and I wont' touch the 2 XL with a stick because of the screen issues and LG MFR.

Have had to charge the phone 2-3 times a day with moderate usage.. is this normal for the smaller pixel?
