Is the power button a problem?

Hey guys,

I came from the Palm Pre, and it had a problem where the power button eventually kind of gave out. Whenever I would press it, it would be spongy, and not work 70% of the time.

Is this a problem on the Nexus? I have been pressing the power button a lot, because it has no keyboard and I can't press those buttons to turn the screen on :P.

Or I am just worrying about nothing? xD

Thanks!

The button is in an awkward location, at least for me, but it should be fine. By the way, I also had a Pre and had the same problem with the power button.

There hasnt been an issue with the power button for me so far. I'm used to having a power button at the very top of the phone but I've gotten used to it being in the upper right side. It seems fine to me.

Same with me. No problem with the power button aside from the location. I'm constantly pressing it to turn down the ringer.

I also had a Pre with a ruined power button. I'd say the feel of the Nexus S power button indicates it'll be fine. Remember the Pre's had that click at the end? The nexus S just has some spring-like pressure, so there's no chance of the click mechanism going.

I had 2 Pre's over the time of my contract and both had the Power button Failure, My wife has one and the power button failed as well. That was a major annoyance with that phone, cheap hardware. No issues to report on my shiny nexus thank G.

No problems so far for me.

I also have a Samsung Epic and have used it for several months now with no power button issues to date. I know there is no direct correlation but being that both phones are built by the same company, this may give you some insight about build quality and durability.
