Is the S7 Edge still worth buying?

I'm looking to get a new phone and, looking at the two on paper, the S7 Edge does not seem to offer a whole lot that the S8 doesn't that I feel I'd actually use and is substantially cheaper. Is there a big negative to going with the S7 edge over the S8 that I'm not realizing? I know the S8 has a better design, Iris scanning and facial recognition, and a slightly better camera, but is that really worth $150? With the SD slot, the 32 GB built in storage difference doesn't really bother me.

Just the fact that it's now the 4th in line in Samsung's line-up and having last year's hardware. BUT the phone is still as capable as it was before. If you're not a power user who needs to have the latest of the greatest, the S7 Edge is still a great buy, but I'd wait to see how much the price drops now that the Note 8 is out.

The biggest issue with the S7 now will be OS upgrades. Being a nearly-two-years-old device, OS upgrade support is nearing its end (and more likely will at the end of the queue for Oreo updates in Samsung's line-up).

I had pretty steady glitch issues with my 7edge back when I had it. But, not all 7edgez had these issues and they are certainly priced at a hefty discount right now. They are a very capable phone and I think you'd be happy with it and the savings

My question to you is: what pho e are you on now?

Absolutely! Jump for these flagships when their newer iterations come out - they'll be cut in price and they're still phenomenal phones!

S7 is still a great phone, S8 is better but it's up to you to determine if the cost difference is worth it.

One thing to keep in mind is updates, phones typically get updates for 2 years after release, so the S8 would get new software versions for longer. Personally it doesn't bother me much, but it's a huge deal to some.

The S7 Edge is still a fantastic phone. The Display, Camera, Compact Design and Battery Life are all up there with the latest and greatest.

Had the Note8 not come with its SPen, Dual Camera and 6GB RAM, I'd have continued using my S7 Edge until late next year.

It would depend on price... I have seen it under $200 before and at that price, absolutely. At full retail, no way

I would still buy it today, just not full price. It's almost as fast as the S8+ but not enough to make a huge difference.

I have both a S7 Edge, S8+ and yet I'm using a Note 5 as my daily and will for several more months.
