Is the S8/S8+ your most favorite phone of all time?

S2 was the real GAME CHANGER! It pretty much launched the Galaxy series and quickly became a favorite brand. This was when Apple was getting seriously worried.
I had the S2 for about 2 weeks then AT&T released the S2 Skyrocket. Took the S2 back and got the new version. That was my first really good Android.

The s2 was the first to introduce the wonderful amoled display with a sleek design and a slim profile and it was feather light which made it pretty durable in falls

S8 is my best of all times with exception of a couple qwirks.
I miss Motorola active display I could read my messages without unlocking/waking up phone or check time or any notification pending just waving my hand.
2nd, I have the direct TV now app on my S8. I can't watch full screen without the annoying three buttons on bottom. Never had that prob with the S6

The most complete phone I have ever owned and I owned a lot. So ya, my S8 Plus is number one on the list.

Love the S8+. But in terms of unadulterated joy the Note 3 was the ticket. Traded it in when I bought the Note 4 but learned my lesson and subsequently kept my Note 4 and 5.

Use the Note 5 most nights while I cast movies to my TV using the S8+.

The S8+ is a beautiful piece of technology, but the Note 7 is still my favorite.

The Galaxy S1 had the AMOLED display and at its time also was very lightweight compared to other smartphones. Battery life however was absolutely terrible on it.

I still have that feature on my little Moto E 2nd Gen!

I think Samsung rolled out an update to hide the touch buttons... Hopefully that'll help

Mate 9 is in my opinion the best phone, in terms of performance, screen size battery, it's pretty unmatched combined all together.

The s8 plus never did that to me

This is a tough one for me. I think the S8+ is a great phone and I like pretty much everything about it, but thinking back I think there were a few that really stand out as favorites.

HTC M7
Moto X (original)
Note 4

The HTC and Moto X felt great in the hand and just worked about perfectly. The Note 4 just had it all. You name it, it could do it and it did it well. It was the last true hardcore productivity phone in my opinion.

The S8+ probably falls right after those three though.

Had the Note 3 and loved it, it was technologically way more advanced ahead of it's time than other smartphones. Removable battery or choice of wireless charging was awesome. The Note series was an absolute favorite. The series is long overdue and fans are waiting till the next one, especially after the mishap.

Mate 9 is a beast! The screen is huge, metal build, huge 4000mAh battery, dual cameras. Basically the Nexus 6P part 2.

I think how "good" a phone feels depends a lot on what you are upgrading from. Personally, moving from a Droid 3 to the Galaxy S3, many years ago, was a bigger jump than moving from an LG G4 to the S8+.

For good or bad, phones are plateauing. The jump from the G4 to this is definitely an improvement. But it really isn't anything groundbreaking.

This is going back a ways but the Samsung Alias was a game changer for me. Not a smart phone but that's really when I started using my phone for things other than just talking. It was a flip phone but flipped open two different ways and had a full keyboard for texting. I loved that phone! After that I went to an iPhone 3GS and that opened me up to the world of smart phones. At the time, that was a great phone and pretty much blew my mind. Got a 4S after that and then I made my leap to the world of Android with the Galaxy S4. I absolutely loved that phone and have had every generation since.

Phones have definitely plateaued. 2007 thru around 2012 were exciting times. Every year brought new features, bigger screens, etc. 2012-2017 has been mostly small incremental upgrades with very few groundbreaking new features. Evolutionary rather than revolutionary. I'm afraid that it will stay fairly flat until the smartphone is replaced by the next thing, oh yeah, that's gonna happen eventually.

At the moment, the GS8/+ is my favorite phone on sale. However, my favourite all time phone was my Nexus 5. I kept it for a year and that's not something I do very often.

I'll be picking up my GS8+ a week on Friday, I'm slowly getting more and more excited.

The HTC One M7 will always be my favorite phone, but I think the S8+ is my second favorite. It has the best battery life of any phone I've owned (beats my S7 edge by a mile) and is a gorgeous phone.

You must not have had the barney edition that made all your pictures look purple. I loved everything about that phone but the camera sucked. I consider camera to be a pillar when evaluated phones and for that reason I can't call it my favorite. I think the S7 is probably my favorite phone I have owned. I don't own a S8 but have used one for a while and something about it didn't grab me like when I unboxed the S7.

Maybe if I had the S8+. The S8 is too small. Might consider the S8+ if the Note8 has a ridiculous price or not enough upgrades.
