AC Question

Is there a 4gb limit on the Samsung Galaxy S8. I have movies that are over 4gb. I've had an android in the past and have always hit a wall when trying to transfer a file over 4gb. Someone has previously mentioned about the card was probably formatted to fat32 etc. However the issue with transferring was onto the Android phone itself and not the memory card.

Welcome to Android Central! I believe Internal Storage is formatted as ext4, which supports a maximum filesize of 2 TB. Are you saying that these files that are >4 GB aren't allowed to be copied over to internal storage? The main 4 GB limitation I'm aware of is that the Camera app's maximum video file size that it can create is 4 GB -- this might be due to the fact that camera apps usually have some ability to save directly to an SD card, which is typically FAT32 (where the max filesize is 4 GB).
