fix for 5.1.1 contacts problem
The 10/10 5.1.1 AT&T update corrupted the Contacts app on my Note 4 such that it will not stop syncing. I've tried every fix listed since 10/11 and as far as I can tell, short of a 5.1.2 patch to fix this, it affects other apps that use messaging and contact information, e.g., the Phone app is useless without the contact list. My temporary fix was to install a new contact application, which fixed the problem to a point, but it still disallows some SMS messages to get through. The peripheral problems have been described as creating hundreds of duplicate contact entries, which I've also seen. When will we see an OS fix for that problem?
