Is there a fix for this, or no?

Every now and then, when I turn my phone on, my data signal defaults to 1X, and I can't seem to get it to go back to 4G. I use the LTE OnOff app to switch it to 3G only, and it picks up the 3G fine, but if I switch back to 4g mode, it goes back to 1X. Restarting the phone usually fixes it (not always, though), but it also drains like 10-15% of the battery.

I think the signal should be fine, as most days, I have a strong consistent 4G connection, but on days where it sticks to 1X, I don't know how to fix it. :/

No, but I've tried toggling off and on the Mobile Network option, which didn't help.

Just try turning off all the cellular radios. If it's still doing that, check with VZW to see if maybe you have a 4G issue in the area.

I know this is dumb, but how do you turn off all the cellular radios? I have the same problem as the OP.

Yep, mine does this.

It gets stuck in 1x until I reboot it. Tried turning mobile network on/off and airplane mode on/off -- nothing.

airplane mode trick works for me. but rarely works the first time, usually need to do it 2-4 times.

you can also download the "restart connections" app from the android market which restarts all radios.

Tried the airplane mode thing once, but it didn't help. My phone's off now, though, so I can't try doing it extra times to see if it fixes it.
