is there a way to add a range of phone numbers to a contact?

You know how some people text using their emails and facebook sends notification texts. The number the texts are from starts with a prefix, but the last few digits change with every text. For example 555-555-5XXX. the XXX will change with each text sent.

Is there anyway android or an application can recognize the prefix or the range of numbers as one contact? can you input a phone number with variables?!

I'd like to know this also. Our local Taxi Firm has a range of test numbera to tell u tasi has been despatched or a dlaemd a ringback.

I can't belive how many numbers Ive added to my contacts for the Taxi Firm
