Is there a way to avoid turning my phone 'on' by accident?

I push the power button to turn off the screen before putting my DI in my pocket, but as often as not, somehow or other I re-engage the screen while it's there. Don't know how I do it (obviously I'm accidentally pushing that button), but it's really annoying. Is there some setting or app that will keep that from happening? Long shot, I know, but thought I'd ask anyway....

Are you using the phone with a case? If not, maybe try that. Most cases keep the power button recessed a bit so it might not accidentally get hit in your pocket.

Like posted above your best option may be getting a case. If you turn on pattern lock so if you do turn on your phone you won't do the famous but dial. Another option would have your screen time out earlier if your worried about battery dying.

Thanks, guys. The case idea would work, but I'm not crazy about the bulk that a case adds to the phone. I'm not concerned about the phone accidentally dialing - I took care of that problem with the 'Call Confirm" app. May end up having to change the screen time out as a last resort...

Well you can just use one piece of the case to protect the power button, and leave off the other

Not be a shill...but I wasn't fond of cases until a co-worker got the Seido Innocase Surface. It's pretty thin, keeps the same lines and feel of the phone. Within a day I stopped noticing it was there. It may be worth a shot.
