Is there a way to customize the boot screen or the splash

Wanna see if I could get help on how to get the nexus one boot screen on the community build I'm trying to put things together to play around and learn android but I dont want to brick the phone as soon as I start lol not sure if any file for the hero is compatible to use on the optimus s thanks for and directions or help it will be appreciated

The nexus one boot screen doesn't work. Well it does but its slow as hell. idk what LG did. Maybe its because I didn't look into it enough, but still..

Ya I deff noticed how the hero day with the nexus ports they used always make it fast to load up or the boot would take along time to get the dang phone on but this phone boots up in like 5 sec after the android screen thanks for the info and zefie could you help me quick could you post up tje commands to get the kernel to go faster in the othere thread the guy said he used the stagefright hack I just wanna know how to get started or what commands or if I need a pc to do it lol thanks if you for the info ;-)
