i hate that default photo image that appears next to my text message list. is there away to disable it, or is there an app that would do it? It's not a feature i really want.

Hi, are you referring to the contact photos? you could have a look at downloading a 3rd party messaging app that doesn't support it - I don't know any of the top of my head though.
