Hi All,

My first time posting this forum. I recently started using messages after being asked to upgrade. I discovered the bubbles feature. My issue is that I am not able to select which conversations I want to have as a bubble. Is there anyway to select only one conversation to show on home Screen?

Thanks,

In messages setting in bubbles choose selected conversations can bubble.

Ok so my bubbles setting looks different. I show "all" "selected only" and "None". What I'm noticing is that it's only when I select all that I get the bubbles to happen at all. If I select "selected only", I don't see anything. Maybe I'm also missing something with this new feature?

After turning on the Selected Only option, go to Settings>Apps, select Messages, then Notifications. You should see a list of Conversations there. Select one, then turn the toggle on for "Bubble this conversation."

Alternatively, in your Google Messages main screen, select any conversation there, then tap the 3-dot menu button at the upper right, then Details, then Notifications. You can see the toggle for "Bubble this conversation" there.

Ok what is interesting is that when I went to settings and went to notifications I didn't see a list of conversations. It wasn't until I selected to bubble all conversations that they started showing up.

I also notice that it's not until someone send me a reply that the bubble starts. The details part of a conversation I didn't see either. Still learning this feature.

Yeah, it can be confusing. I have many ongoing conversations on my Messages app, but only a few show up when I go to the system settings and then Notifications. The alternative method I mentioned will be more reliable (i.e., going to the particular message thread you want, then tapping the 3-dot menu button, then Details>Notifications.

Adding to this thread, I notice that when bubbles is enabled, on some conversations, I can no longer hold down on them and delete them. I have to actually click on the three dots on the conversation and delete it. Not sure if I'm missing something?

Sorry, I don't use bubbles regularly so I can't say for sure. I just tested by turning on bubbles, and didn't notice any problem with long-pressing a thread in my thread list to bring up the delete option.

Is there any obvious pattern to the ones you can't long-press to delete? Like are they the ones that are actually being shown in a bubble as well?

They aren't being shown in the bubbles. I do notice that half the time they are like ads for like food services. I mean it's not the end of the world of course, that I have to take an extra step to delete the conversation, I just happen to notice. I mainly use the bubble feature for my spouse. It's cool as a husband to have your wife right there. Hehe.
