Is there a way to Mark a phone numbers as not being text-able

When I select a name to send a text to, the phone number that shows up is usually not their mobile number. if it's a home or some other non-text-able number, they never get the text and I think they're ignoring me.

I have them mobile number set as the default number, however, when I select the person by name in the text app that's never the number that shows up.

If you open your contact app and choose one to edit can change that number to work, cell etc.. if they have multiple numbers assign each one too with it has
