Is there a way to skip the cropping process when setting a new wp

So I have this really cool wallpaer and it is 1440x1280. And it fits the screen perfectly, but since it makes you crop the image then I can't use the whole image. Is there a way to bypass the cropping step?

If you set the image from the browser then you don't have to crop anything (long press on image... set as... wallpaper).... only when setting from the gallery. Either upload the image to an image hosting site and set the wallpaper from there or use that app that I mentioned. There's no way of removing that crop box from the gallery.
