Is there an app or a way to disable media scanning

I have an HTC one sv and whenever my phone boots it triggers a media scan and I don't think its necessary for it to scan every time so as the title suggests does an app exist that can disable it or is there a build.prop tweak I can change to stop it , any help would be appreciated......

I found Rescan Media ROOT, but it's pretty old (then again, your phone isn't exactly new).

Does it take a long time to scan? I always found that the media scanning process was pretty fast, unless it was getting stuck on a corrupt file (usually on the SD card).
