Is there an app to update gear fit to accurately track steps

my gear fit does not record steps accurately and not at all when on an ellipital, is there an app to fix this problem?

These devices really can't count steps accurately. They count the movements and at a certain threshold, they are counted as steps. You could stand in place and wave your arm around and the device will think you are running. So no, not really. These things aren't ACTUALLY COUNTING.
