Is there any information re: Smart Switch?

Kies is apparently out now, to be replaced by Smart Switch, but can't find anything about Smart Switch.

Smart Switch has to be downloaded to your Android and your pc/Mac. I tried it; it kept refusing to recognize my Galaxy.

Reading through the forums here and elsewhere I've seen a lot of complaints and a handful of kudos. One recurrent problem seems to be that if you haven't fully uninstalled the old Kies (which is more complex than it seems), SS won't work properly.
