Really, all they had to do was leave alone the Vibrant/Captivate, add the keyboard, the camera flash, the LED notification, and the Wimax and it would've been fine. Now they're nerfing?
At least the GPS is fixed

all I hear are a bunch of peoole crying that the sky is falling when it isn't. It is almost as if you guys are looking for things to complain about. If the phone is that bad dont get it.
Can this phone be used internationally? I pre-ordered this phone and I'm going to Mexico in September on vacation... I remember the cs guy at Sprint telling me that I couldn't take my Evo internationally...

Agreed
First it was the phone cost too much and everyone is upset they didnt include all the Touchwiz 3.0 features when infact every review and hands on so far has said the phone runs faster than all the other Galaxy S phones (perhaps leaving some features out was a good thing)
I guess you really cant please everybody
Unbelievable how anyone can say this is not a Galaxy S phone despite the features it has.
So it doesnt have custom fonts or a fancy lock screen boo hoo. Has anyone played with any of the other Galaxy S phones yet??
The Vibrant and Captivate both lack something as simple as LED notification, which means if you missed a text, email, or call you have no way of knowing unless you check your phone every 5 minutes.
Then there is the lack of LED flash, which is laughable. This is 2010 how can you call something a smartphone when the camera is useless in the dark.
Im not saying the phone is perfect as no device is but it seems every little problem people find with the phone they decide to blow it up as if it is something truly devastating.
Some of the problems people are finding with this phone are so miniscule compared to problems others phones are having right now (Iphone 4 with antenna, Evo with 30FPS lock, Droid X with locked bootloader, Droid 2 with horrible signal quality).
People need to realize that no phone is perfect.
Almost all Sprint phones including Epic are CDMA. GSM is the international standard, so probably not
that's not the point, Samsung went out and when announcing the phones they stated that they was to have all the software the SAME, meaning no flimsy vanilla music player, no touchwiz v2.5 as I'm calling it, no differences in the lock screen, NONE of that. who cares about led notification lights and all that, if you ask me the LACK of the exact software galaxy S wide means the developer community can develop one ROM, one software solution for ALL the Galaxy S platforms (not knowing what VZW is doing of course) but ONE! the Epic 4g!
Look at this, your paying $50 MORE than other Galaxy S devices, your not getting the same quality software as other Galaxy S devices, and i'm sorry having a keyboard, and flash does NOT make it worth $50 more.

Except in the 40 countries that use CDMA, which Mexico is one of them. My gf's family takes their phones with them everytime they go visit her grandparents there and have called me. Its not free, but it works. People won't know who you are unless you alert them it'll come from a really wierd number. ask a real sprint rep, they'll hook you up. Data/4g probably won't work.

and notification light, and front facing camera, and 4g you seemed to have forgotten those.
Looking at the glass half full instead of half empty. Good choice!
Ohh noo the music player isnt as fancy as the other Galaxy S phones the phone is ruined!!!!
Complaining over a music player??? Ridiculous
Samsung cant please everyone because I GUARANTEE if this phone had the fancy music player and font but Samsung took away the LED notification or something else people would be upset.
The freaking G1 had LED notification and your telling me a phone like the Vibrant or Captivate which has double the RAM, ROM, Internal memory, better screen, better camera, etc and it is missing something as small and simple as that????
And even if the LED flash, or Notification, or Front Facing camera arent a big deal lets look at some other phones problems
Do you think Droid X users would ditch being able to change the size of widgets in order to have no locked bootloader?? Of course!!
What about Evo 4g users, do you think they would sacrifice one of their HTC widgets for no 30 FPS cap??? They would in a second!!
The point like I said before is that NO phone is perfect. So yes while you may be upset with a fancy music player that the Epic is lacking there are much more serious problems other phones have right now. Some phones dont even work if you are left handed (iphone 4) yet you are upset over a fancy music player.
Compared to other phones out there the Epic's problems (no fancy music player, or custom fonts) are insignificant.
If the Epic had a serious hardware problem than I could see a valid complaint but something as small as a music player just sounds like you are being picky.
Thanks! Yeah, I'll talk to them about it when I pick up the phone... Can't wait!
Hmm... does this phone take my hero out back and have its way with it? YES!
uhh the intercept takes the hero out back and has a field day on it.
oh that's coming from a hero owner too. may god rest it's soul when it gets killed when i get the Epic or EVO, can't decide between the two, but i'm leaning Epic, more cuz of no 30FPS hardware cap.
Now this is someone who makes a really good point. The Epic doesn't have a hardware problem really. Software problems? Fixable in the future. Hardware problems? You're out of luck. Pull out the rooting tools and you're good to go. Fix all the little software pet peeves and you have your god phone.
