Is there any lag on the HTC One (M8)?

Re: Is there any lag on the M8?

Buttery smooth! On occasion the keyboard doesn't pop up as fast as I'd like while texting for example - but I'm also switching between swiftkey, swype and the stocker. It may be because of this going back and forth it takes it an extra beat. However, that said this phone for the most part delivers instantaneous responses to input.

Re: Is there any lag on the M8?

I have come from Nexus brand phones so I'm used to minimal lag. The M7 annoyed me here and there cos I could see lag.

I'm happy to report that I can't fault the M8. For some reason the keyboard doesn't feel as fast as on the Nexus 4 or 5, but it doesn't feel like lag. Just the way it's programmed.

Re: Is there any lag on the M8?

No real lag or hiccups. HTC have done really well to make the UI super smooth.

I've used the Galaxy S5 quite a bit and while it's clearly the fastest Galaxy flagship phone, there's noticeable lag and stutter going in and out of apps, through the home screens etc. For whatever reason the Galaxy phones still have wakeup lag, apps like the multi-tasker, people and camera apps take a while to load up. I think TW is just too heavy for a lightning quick experience.

I'd say the M8 is the fastest android phone I've used.

Re: Is there any lag on the M8?

Those of you talking about the keyboard, I noticed that I liked the keyboard of the GS5 better when I tried it in the store so I will probably install Swiftkey which I use now. How does that work with it if anyone has tried?

SwiftKey keyboard works great with the M8. That's what I'm using now.

No lag at all... By far the fastest and smoothest phone I have ever had.

I use Swype keyboard without trouble. And like every other person posted on here, no lag. She runs like a Swiss time piece.

The M8 is as fast and smooth as my iPhone 5S was

Try the official google keyboard. It flies on the M8.

Re: Is there any lag on the M8?

This is all good to hear. My old One X had a bit of lag and it was blamed on Sense, glad HTC addressed this. Or it's just the 801 processor being bad a** at handling Sense lol

Re: Is there any lag on the M8?

I asked the same question about the GS5 because I have seen the lag in some of the tests performed. So for you guys that have been using the M8 for a week or so, do you experience any lag at all opening apps, switching between them, turning the screen on, opening the camera, etc.? I am still trying to decide between these two and this would probably be one of the most important factors because the lag on my old Razr Maxx drives me crazy. I know it is 2 years old and slowed down over time but my wife's iphone still has no lag after 2 years. So just wondering about lag with Sense or if you are using other launchers as well. Thanks.

Did you ask the same question about the gs5 on the forums? Cause I can't find it if you did.

Re: Is there any lag on the M8?

I've compared both the s5 and the m8 together for a week and they are both great phones. As far as lag, I've never had an issue with anything lagging on the m8. The s5 is a fast phone as well, but after a few days it started to lag a bit when opening or switching between apps. I also find Sense 6 to be much better than TouchWiz.

Re: Is there any lag on the M8?

Yep that is it there. And I am amazed how no one mentions lag here but that thread did mention some problems. I think I am going to go with the M8.

Thank you very much for that. Gave me a good chuckle and reassurance.

You won't be disappointed. Especially if a smooth phone is what you're after.
