Is there any update on 4.3 for the S3?

Also one thing I didn't get is that Samsung only sold 800K smart watches to date so far. Wouldn't they sell MUCH more if the GS3 and the other devices getting Galaxy Gear had it already before selling it?

That's what I was thinkin. With the recent updates to the watch. ..... is much more functional now and that made me actually want one. But there is NO way I would even budget for one without having 4.3 for at least a week or two first to see how it goes!

Well now that T-Mobile & AT&T are pushing their updates out we should be looking at it very soon...

I know it's the question most asked but is Samsung actually thinking about going up to 4.4 on the S3??

So I've seen the opensource files before and they are zip files, can anyone explain what exactly they are? Is that something that can be sideloaded, or is it just the files that Samsung provided to Sprint that Sprint used to make the final OTA files and zip files for Kies? Sorry if that's a n00b question.

I completely agree! I would never buy something that would be useless unless I had another device/thing that will make useful. I'm surprised that Samsung didn't work on getting 4.3 to the carriers sooner so that way, by the time it is released, Galaxy Gear (or whatever the hell it's called) would be out by the time the carriers would have 4.3 figured out for eh devices. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Samsung launched the Galaxy Gear way to early.

A guy in my office on AT&T got his OTA to 4.3 on his SG3 yesterday evening. I checked it out today. It's legit. My wife got her's on her SG4 yesterday too. Shouldn't be long for the sprint version, at least I hope not. They're dropping all around me.

Still no update to 4.3 herw in Indiana. Might just go to sprint storw and see if they have it yet and let them manually update it.

It comes out in waves, so everyone won't get it at the same time. This is a interesting article on way you shouldn't force updates. I always wait a few days to see if there's any issues with an update.
