Is there any way to change the home button options?

Well, not exactly what you folks are looking for since it doesn't modify the Home button but it's a solution - try this https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...pps/details?id=com.smart.swkey&token=KMjlMWea. It says that some of the keys work without root, but I can't tell you which ones since my SGSIII is rooted. View attachment 40059

I've actually ran across this app tons of times but never looked at it because of the root thing

But u had no idea it could actually simulate the ics dock

Is there any way that you could set it up to be at the bottom of your screen so it would look just like the galaxy Nexus?

I'm seriously considering rooting my phone now just to have it

Thx

I just wanna say that Nova is the BEST launcher on Android!... That's is all

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 Boyyyyyy!

Apex is better cause the free version has more features than nova free

You can choose where to place the little hot spot (for lack of a better term) that brings up the menu. Note that the menu that's shown in the screenshot isn't visible all the time - just the hot spot is, and you can change the transparency level, placement, etc. You should try it unrooted just to see what features it offers and perhaps it'll be sufficient. If you do, please post an update letting everyone else know which buttons work without root.

Have yet to find a feature that works without root but I like the overall idea of the app and it stays on until you hit the hide button

Wish it could take up the entire bottom of my screen, but as is, I am considering root to use all its full features

Well Nova has more features in the paid version...it even has "Jelly Bean" features like the automatic movable widgets, animations, and their own "project butter"..pow!

Apex free has the jelly bean things as well, lol

I actually have both on my phone and will probably buy nova when I get my nexus 7 Only because it has more gesture features and I can use my app drawer icon pack with nova

Yeah Apex is better than nova in the free version and the paid version they are basically equal except nova might be faster.

If you download their beta version I think you get the full more updated version for free. I think. Try, you can get it via the settings

grr ive just set up Nova for 1st time and you people are talkin bout Apex now!!! lol ;)

I am not rooted and that icon (recent apps) does not do anything on my s3 :( do I have to be rooted for that?

Bummer - I guess root is required for that to work. Do ANY of the buttons work? It would at least be nice to know which ones do work in case I recommend this in the future.

I FOUND SOMETHING! ==> FOR ME IT IS THE MOST HELPFULL SOLLUTION SO FAR regarding this thread! ==> It's called "Buttons remapper" and is NO floating button like most apps available, but just an invisible service that helps you customise your physical home button AND OTHER BUTTONS AS WELL in different ways! - available at the Google App Store (no root needed) (PS: regarding the double tap it must be some similar app to this app, or this app itself if the developers integrate this option in the future. PS: Hey guys, somebody has to write them a letter I think!) :)
Best regards.
