Is there any way to prevent the screen from lighting up when fully charged?

Hey, so when I go to plug my GS5 in to charge for the night, the screen will eventually light up when it's done charging. Is there any way to prevent this?

As far as I know, not without rooting.

Sorry, I should have mentioned in the original post, I do have my GS5 rooted. Is there an app or something that can prevent the screen from lighting up?

Try looking in the Xposed Module Repository for something. If there's a module that will do it, install Xposed Installer and the module. (I think that's how I got mine to keep from popping up the "remove the charger" popup.)

If mine lights up upon reaching full charge, I've never seen it. It must go back to a black screen.

How could it be? Your eyes are closed, and the phone is very dim.

Lay a magazine over it for petes sake or turn it face down....

Mine is Qi equipped and I never hear it, nor do I see the darn thing.

Samsung has been doing that with all their phones for a long time, AFAIK. They claim that this is because of an EU mandate to conserve power, that they must notify the user the charging is done to unplug the phone.

Even worse, my Samsung S4 used to go "BONG!" to make sure I knew it was charged. No, I can't turn off the audio, I'm on call during the night but REALLY don't need to be called by my phone. So the phone went back to Samsung, who just don't understand this behavior is unacceptable.
