is there any way to retrieve deleted photos?

My photos that were on my phone (not saved on sd card) were deleted. Is there any way to retrieve them?

Welcome to the forums. Sadly, no. Once something has been deleted in Android, it's gone.

May I suggest you get Dropbox, Amazon Cloud, or something alike, this way once you take a picture it auto downloads to which ever service you choose and if it is deleted from your phone, you have it stored online. Some of these services are free up to a certain limit of space.

To add to Tanya's suggestion: Google Photos allows for unlimited space as long as you up[load the pictures in High Quality. Those settings are default, i think and can be checked in Photos>menu>settings>Backup and sync>Upload size.
