Is This Battery Life Pretty Pathetic?

I'm getting 2-3 days out of 100% charge depending on usage. That's with maximum screen resolution too. The only power saving thing I've done is to turn off always on display & edge lighting.

I'm streaming Spotify at work for 8 hours straight, and I'm only down to 75 to the 80% when I leave. Best battery life I've ever had with a phone.

It's even worse today!!!!

Hahaa barely used it. 3 or 4 hours screen time, that is a lot of time doing something like starring at your screen. Thats half the time of a working day :-)

I don't want to stare at my screen that much in a day, it's simply a unit of measure to benchmark against other people's numbers.

There's so many elements that determine battery life. Always on Display was cute at first, but not really needed. That right there is a somewhat decent chunk of standby.

Also if your phone is your primary device you won't see 2+ days. When I'm at home I use my iPad + laptop for browsing. I'll use my phone for texting and occasionally Android Central at home. (Love the app better than website.)

Man turning the always on display off makes ba big difference.
Turning the auto brightness off and turning down the brightness a little helped.
Going into Google activity and deleting it by all timeand deleting Google history.
Along with going into device maintenance and clearing everything out.
It helps to turn your phone off & back on at least once a week.
And deleting some junk files be out of your phone.

Last night results.

This is my best results yet. I did a Cache Wipe one time. I put the phone in Airplane Mode from 12 AM - 9 AM (I don't need notifications when I sleep and I don't need a distraction getting ready for work) Always on Display is off.

Other than that, I use the phone and features as normal. I love how little energy it sips on standby. I would definitely advise those who's standby is horrible to do a cache wipe, or better yet, just restart the phone.

On average the screen is on 2-3 hours per day. With 7 hours screen time per charge. If I push 2+ days final Screen on Time is between 6 - 7.

At about 2 days. 7-8.
less than 2 days 8-9+.

I think I would be wanting to do a factory reset.
But that is just me

True. That's usually a super last minute option for me. At least from what I can see for some people they may have to if Android OS is going rogue.

Android OS and System used to be battery hogging demons, but now, Screen is always at the top even if my phone sits in Standby / streams music for a long time.

For S & G's, have you thought about uninstalling Facebook for a day or two to see if battery life improves? If so, it may be in the Facebook settings. Facebook is evil in that way and some other ways.
If you click on Android OS in your battery stats and then check your optimize settings, maybe there is something in there you can check as well.

I'm seeing considerably better battery life on my Note 9 vs my old S8+. I have the 8gb RAM/512 gb version on Verizon, FYI).

I had to always plug in my S8+ several times a day to get it to last til the end of the day. My Note 9 I don't usually even plug in once during the workday and still have 40-50% left at like 6pm. I just keep brightness around 75%, keep AOD on, and don't fiddle with any other battery settings and use it the same exact way (or actually more since I don't worry about battery life nearly as much now).

And FYI, for those few considering jumping ship to the iPhone Xs Max, I just saw this article today:
iPhone XS Max battery life crushed by Samsung Note 9 Galaxy in test

https://9to5mac.com/2018/10/12/iphone-xs-max-battery-life/

Note 9 they tested still had nearly 40% battery when the iPhone Xs max died - LOL.
