Is This Battery Life Pretty Pathetic?

https://youtu.be/c06HoSJdDjo

I'm seeing considerably better battery life on my Note 9 vs my old S8+. I have the 8gb RAM/512 gb version on Verizon, FYI).

I had to always plug in my S8+ several times a day to get it to last til the end of the day. My Note 9 I don't usually even plug in once during the workday and still have 40-50% left at like 6pm. I just keep brightness around 75%, keep AOD on, and don't fiddle with any other battery settings and use it the same exact way (or actually more since I don't worry about battery life nearly as much now).

And FYI, for those few considering jumping ship to the iPhone Xs Max, I just saw this article today:
iPhone XS Max battery life crushed by Samsung Note 9 Galaxy in test

https://9to5mac.com/2018/10/12/iphone-xs-max-battery-life/

Note 9 they tested still had nearly 40% battery when the iPhone Xs max died - LOL.

it looks like the ones having issue with battery is the Exynos note 9 .

Mine is the snapdragon

My screen on time lasts pretty much 2 days with Moderate use. I have turned off my social media notification as well as keeping brightness low

Okay so I did a factory reset and it's doing much better. 16% here

This is what I get after 60 hours. That's about 7 hours if I ran it all the way down, but I started plugging in at 20% now that it's been a few weeks. Curious to see if Android Pie is gonna be a pipe dream or nightmare to my battery. Haha

How are you getting such great battery life. 5 hours sot?? Do you barely use your phone ? I get maximum 20 hours out of mine which I thought was good. But I wish I can get that much better battery life out of mine. Do tell your tricks lol.

No it doesn’t. I own both and the max lasts much longer than my n9 with the same usage. Also that video is bogus. Many articles on it already. He had the note 9 in 1080p mode to save power. Put the damn thing in 1440p which is what it’s designed for. It will drain much faster that way. Maybe we should lower the resolution of the iPhone to 1080p but we can’t.

The note 9 is great device with options if you want XS max batterylife out the note turn down your resolution to HD or HD+

Not just the battery, but the overall fluidity; performance and optimization of apps.

For instance and for whatever reason, in the Android Facebook app on my Note 9, it doesn’t let a user delete a posted comment on someone else’s thread. That’s ridiculous. In addition, it does not let one sort comments by newest first. This is just FB. No issues on the IOS apps. Not sure why the discrepancy.

Since when can you delete a post not from yourself posted on another persons page ???? You can HIDE a post not from you but you can't delete a post on someone else's timeline that's not from you

I tried both, and honestly saw very little difference between the two. I mostly had it on the midway mark which is default.

No offense intended, but i think the OP and his opening statement is one of the most ridiculous I've ever seen. Screen brightness all the way up to the "red zone" and then complains about 4 hrs on screen time.

That is pretty incredible actually for that ridiculously high screen brightness. And why does anyone have to have that? Is he outdoors on bright sunlight all the time using the phone? The only time I've used it that high is outside of a bright day don't say taking pics.

I had a similar problem. No application seemed to be the problem but phone kept being hot. I monitored processes and nothing was there: Very high CPU utilization but no process takes it. Also noted that phone does not enter deep sleep (which is clear as CPU was 75%-100% busy. This was the case for 6 days. Today I enabled an app named "duo" from google. Google makes it mandatory so I could not remove it. Instead, I registered to it (but did not use it). The problem gone. This is strange. I cannot be sure that the activation solved the problem but I know it was solved as soon as I have registered. You may want to try and share the results
