Is this my dream phone?

This is one of the best phones I've seen in a while, with the unibody design and the qHD display. I think that this is possibly one of the best competitors to the iPhone I've seen yet. I can't wait for the release. I really hope T-Mobile/HTC doesn't screw this up.

No, it's the phone after your dream phone. No wait, that's the Thunderbolt. So I guess it's the phone after you return the Thunderbolt and switch from Verizon...hmmmmm :p

I might sound a bit ignorant and naive but what does this offer that the Atrix doesn't?

Hardwarewise, nothing really (the processor is a bit faster, but it's hardly noticeable). Both Motorola and HTC build excellent phones.

As for software, one has Motoblur, the other has Sense 3.0, so at that point, it's really whichever you prefer.

Great phone! However, with 2 out of the box flaws in IMO.

1: Micro USB(Charger/HDMI) on the bottom left side of the phone.
That means unless you get an after market stand with some clearance?

You will not be able to watch videos in landscape orientation while on a charge.

HTC should have kept the Micro USB port on the bottom ala Evo 4G.

And yes watching video's drains a good deal of battery.

2: No Kickstand! WTF HTC! A phone that you advertise as a multimedia
powerhouse? How do you expect to watch a video in landscape without
either purchasing an after market stand or simply lean your sensation on something?

HTC should have just kept the Micro USB port in the same location as the Evo's
Micro USB port(bottom).

What does it matter if the port is on the side? You can turn your phone the other way to watch videos in landscape still.

Maybe with gingerbread you can?

However, my Evo with froyo I can only watch videos in landscape orientation on
one side(the side with the port on these new phones).
Youtube will give you the upside down orientation for about 1 second then it will flip
over 180 degrees to the other side.

Check out the Thunderbolt forum. There was alot of people complaining
about the location of the port.

A couple of things:

1) Design. Personally I think HTC nailed it. The Atrix looks nice, but this looks nicer IMHO.

2) Sense > Motoblur in almost everyone's opinion. An alternate launcher does not hide Sense all the way, only the the homescreens and bottom buttons.

3) The bootloader. We know the Atrix is encrypted and locked down. The Sensation will probably have some sort of encryption, too, but if it's anything like the Thunderbolt it'll get bypassed to allow full root.

Both phones are good, but I'm personally more excited about this than I was the Atrix when it was announced.
