Is this normal?

Oh yeah but that is not my thread. I need answers to my problems and if u feel im spamming this forum its not my problem anymore.

I don't think he's accusing you of spamming the forum, I think he's just pointing out that you have a lot of apps running in the background, which is an obvious battery drainer. I can understand people wanting to be connected to all the social media out there, but to expect that sort of connectivity to all online media and not expect it to be a drain on the battery is a little perplexing to me.

The best way to determine if you have a defective unit or not is to disable most of the apps that are running in the background unnecessarily and see what your battery life is like. I can't imagine if I had all those notifications on my notification bar and it not having an effect on my battery life.

Sometimes forums are like school time. Ya gotta ignore the ones trying to get under your skin and just pay attention to the folks waiting to hear how your issue is going and wanting to help if possible. I'm curious about what might be running even if you think it's closed. I know occasionally I open the task manager and close all. I'm hoping that's the right way and looking forward to hearing and learning how the things you're trying work out!

Thank you.. I always close the apps using task manager. Do I really have to go to the application manager and force close it?;

You forget to close Skype & 4 other apps though ... just trying to help :)

Cheers, Jon

I agree with this ^^^

Also, have you disabled all the apps that you don't need?

This. And is the 4G always on? Something I learned from having a thunderbolt, Is to turn it off when not in use. It takes a few seconds to re activate, but it is better than a dead battery.

I am in a 4G area at all times there is a tower less then a mile from me. What I do is let my phone switch to WiFi when I am at home or at work. It gives me great battery life. I have got as much as almost 2 days on one charge and is with medium use checking 4 email accounts and being on the forums a lot. After 2 days I got the battery down to 7%. I read not to let the battery go completely dead or it can cause problems.

I use the app "Trigger" to switch off mobile data and Bluetooth when it is within 10m of my house GPS location. It also switches on Wi-Fi to connect to my router.

I leave GPS on all the time as it doesn't drain the battery and it is useful to use it as a trigger for switching off apps and signals that do.

You could do something similar with an NFC tag if you prefer not to leave GPS on. I use an NFC tag in my car dock to switch on Bluetooth, and I use trigger to enable my iBolt dock and drive app when Bluetooth connects to my car radio.

I also trigger the app "Smart Volume" in the car so it controls the volume of music from my phone playing through the Bluetooth car radio relative to the speed I am driving at.

When the phone leaves the dock it turns Bluetooth off.

These are examples of how I use triggers to minimise battery drain and maximise phone enjoyment.

On the note 3, if you are in a strong signal area, leaving 4GLTE on all the time is fine

I am a heavy user and my job has bad reception. But my wife is always in a good 4g coverage and has her 4g on all the time. And she usually ends up with more battery at the end of the day. Even though I turn my 4g off when not in use.

Sounds right. Weak signals are the worst battery drain ever.

Yup. Even though he turned off 4GLTE, voice signal still can be a substantial drain in weak signal areas

There's an app or several apps that are causing the battery drain. Even when closed, some apps will continue to run in the background. Hopefully, you can isolate what is causing the drain. It sucks that we have these powerful devices and have to dumb them down. I've started to not worry about it anymore and just use my phone lol.
