Is this phone a definite NO for VZW?

? If so why? is it because of loyalty to the Iphone and S4?

Seems to me like the DNA has also been shoved aside and an afterthought ...

Just another terrible move by Verizon! Why would they basically rob their customers rights to the top phones and for delayed updates..

Because they think they have you locked in? I found it really easy to get off AT&T a few years ago, I expect that T-Mobile will bend over backwards to take my money as well, sorry Sprint.

Just be patient guys. Big Red is just waiting for all the stock of droid dna to sell out before announcing the one. A spec sheet that looks very similar to the htc one for verizon has also been leaked... Which means that its coming.

Like I said on XDA.. If Verizon can't modify it n add a weird commercial. They don't want it.

Verizon is the most greedy carrier of them all. Just look at what they did to the Galaxy Nexus.

isn't that illegal now?

Well if you put it that way :P

This really annoys me. The logo too. And all the bloatware. I'm on a family plan though, so...

Verizon won't touch anything unless it's a Verizon phone.

For right now. The White House made a statement earlier this year and said it should be legal, so I'm assuming it'll be overturned in the near future.

It's not illegal to unlock it if the carrier does it for you or gives you permission to do it yourself.

Odds are a similar phone once the DNA stock is cleared out. Probably with the usual VZW junk add ons. *shrug*

VZW buy and sells handsets they think they will have the most success selling. It wouldn't be unreasonable for them to pass on a HTC device after the last few.

Yes but you could always get a CDMA one from sprint and then unlock it.

The phone has to be registered on VZW's network. You can't just unlock CDMA phones and swap networks like you can with GSM, and it is very very unlikely you'll get them to add one into the system for you.

No they haven't. That tweet and any other 'official' announcement concerning Verizon was deleted. The One is coming to Verizon, it just won't be called as such.

Really, you think it would be unreasonable to pass on the one? Why? After all, they passed on the oneX didn't they?
And what makes you think that they will give up on an htc flagship device after only 5 months or so? Even if they put out the One a few months late, it would still mean giving up a flagship in 8 months. I personally don't see this happening.

Verizon, in my opinion, will not get the one. They already made a huge mistake in selling the DNA. Why would they do so again with a late arrival of the One?
It would be better for both Verizon and HTC if they just skip the One altogether.

If anything, we will see a new phone on Verizon from HTC. But it will be the One+, a 5" screen, and not much different then the original...well, it might lack boomsound, and I don't have any hope that it will have a 4mp camera.

But yeah, I don't think that Verizon is going to make the same mistake once again this year...and I'm not too sure HTC is going to do it again, as long as they want to put out only one flagship phone in the US.

I think that you all are nuts to think Verizon is ever going to get the One. It will be a disaster for Verizon.

They didn't pass on the One X. They got it in the form of the DNA.
