Is this phone a definite NO for VZW?

The DNA is more or less the J Butterfly. It is far from the One X.

No. The J Butterfly is a variant of the DNA. The DNA shares significant chunks of its, uh, dna with the one X.

As you can see, the Droid DNA is the Butterfly. Everything from the display, PPI, cameras, chipset, battery type. They're the exact same thing. The One X is something else.

Yes, the DNA and the Butterfly are the same phone (more or less) and both are closer to the One X than the HTC One, but the Butterfly wasn't really meant to be a One X for Japan and Verizon, it's a separate device.

What? I'm talking about the DNA being the exact same as the Butterfly. I just threw the One X up there as well to show the differences so there's no more misinformation.

I was agreeing with you. The previous argument was that the Butterfly was the One X for carriers that didn't get the One X. It did fill the HTC slot on the shelf, but was a completely different period and device. Verizon actually got the DINC2 which is more or less a One V.

Oh. You threw me off a little bit there at the end, cheers mate.

You put up the international one X. The us one X is very close to the DNA.

You misunderstand totally and completely.

The DNA came before the Butterfly. It was commissioned by Verizon to be their one X. HTC sold it to KDDI when Verizon allowed them to. It IS Verizons version of the One X, even though it has obvious differences.

Thanks for throwing up those specs, Suda. Also, what is this, the "chicken or the egg" argument of smartphones? :)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, no, Verizon will not get the htc One.

Really, you think it would be unreasonable to pass on the one? Why? After all, they passed on the oneX didn't they?
And what makes you think that they will give up on an htc flagship device after only 5 months or so? Even if they put out the One a few months late, it would still mean giving up a flagship in 8 months. I personally don't see this happening.

Verizon, in my opinion, will not get the one. They already made a huge mistake in selling the DNA. Why would they do so again with a late arrival of the One?
It would be better for both Verizon and HTC if they just skip the One altogether.
If anything, we will see a new phone on Verizon from HTC. But it will be the One+, a 5" screen, and not much different then the original...well, it might lack boomsound, and I don't have any hope that it will have a 4mp camera.
But yeah, I don't think that Verizon is going to make the same mistake once again this year...and I'm not too sure HTC is going to do it again, as long as they want to put out only one flagship phone in the US.

I think that you all are nuts to think Verizon is ever going to get the One. It will be a disaster for Verizon.
