Is updating to 2.0.1 even worth doing?

I wouldn't have updated in retrospect. The browser is a laggy POS now.

Are you sure that's a function of the update?

Try the Dolphin browser. Firefox and Opera are coming soon. It will be interesting to see which emerges as a better alternative to the native browser.

I'm nearly 100% positive it's a function of the update. Before the update scrolling through graphically intensive websites was a thing of beauty. Now, it stutters and skids. I did a hard reset and still experienced the issue so I'm certain it's not any particular app's fault.

Otherwise I love the update, just wish it didn't ruin such an important part of the device for me. As an example, try scrolling around at Look at this fucking hipster and see if it smooth for you, it is terrible for me.

I have to say this update did nothing to my native browser after all the talk I heard I stopped using dolphin to see how the update would effect my browser. Since then I haven't touched dolphin again

Same here. Stopped using Dolphin and went back to default.

I loaded that site on my droid, and while it was laggy I think that this is what you can expect from a web site like that. Sure its kind of "annoying" but shoot, it is what it is. I have no experience browsing the site before the update but maybe it was better than I know. It is a tad slow to render the huge images as quickly as your finger can swipe, but never at any point does the browser becomes slow to the point of being unusable, as the iphone often did. It can't be everything to everyone. Sounds like you have a penchant for this site for some reason. Netbook perhaps?

I couldn't have agreed more. My browser experience is worse then before. I now also have random apps opening for no apparent reason. When scrolling now on a webpage it'll now in the middle of scrolling warp to the bottom or top depending on the direction I'm scrolling.

Overall I'm not experiencing ANY increase in speed for anything. Infact I'd go as far as saying its running worse.

I had no issues before the update and still have no issues. I noticed some minor changes like the unlock screen but nothing has slowed down or anything. My brother on the other hand, said he lost all his contacts after the update. I have to call him and see how he made out with that.

Before you update, be sure to export your contacts to the sd card. Then if they get messed up you can just import them.

Whenever I answer a phone call my screen blanks as it gets close to my face (as it is supposed to) but does not return after hanging up. Opening the keyboard or pressing buttons do not wake it. I have to plug up the phone to get the screen back on. This problem began after the update. I have searched other message boards and found that there are a lot of other people who have been experiencing the same problem. I hope they fix it soon because this is a phone. It should work as a phone first and foremost.

Didn't realize there were cons to doing the upgrade, lol. All I have seen are the pros. It has made the phone run a lot better. I even updated mine manually

Simple answer is UPDATE. Issues will be corrected and new ones will arise. Just the nature of firmware updates. As for the browser lag, I don't have any but I know it is real and does exist for some. Rest be assured it's being looked into.

The update worked fine for me. For my friend however it was a different story. He couldn't get a cellular connection and ended up calling motorola where they had him go into and edit a bunch of files in the OS. He was quite frustrated by the end of it - and he's a tech guy too so its not like he had no clue what he was doing, he did.

Yeah I haven't had any cons in the 2 days since I upgraded.

Trust me, it's a fearless upgrade, not like upgrading a Blackberry or Windows.

Just upgrade.

Since the upgrade, I have no earpiece audio in calls after I've listened to music using headphones. I have to reboot to get my earpiece audio back :(

I've also noticed the browser lag while scrolling now, too, and know of more than a few people who had their contacts disappear.

Did the factory reset to see if this would help some of the issues Ive been having since the update and it didnt do anything but make the browser experience worse. Not only are web pages scrolling rediculously slow but now their straight up freezing on me.

I love the phone but this update is seriously pissing me off how bad its turned out to be for my device. I may be one of the few but it sure as hell is annoying what its doing to my phone.

Wow I'm shocked to hear of the problems some are having. I noticed very little cosmetic changes, a bunch of OS/UI improvements and no downfalls.

The OS runs a lot faster and moving between the 3 home screens is even smoother and quicker with the flick of a finger. Not too sure about the battery improvement yet, still tracking that.

Sorry to hear the problems people are having. Don't know what to say. Hopefully Google will listen and help.
