Is your Nexus 7 slow? Should I wait for the new one?

And I guess I couldn't keep going back and forth between the note and the nexus 7. No tablet will be prefect, but I'll just enjoy this one. I'll miss the stock jelly bean UI though! Is there a jelly bean launcher for tablets?

Nova Launcher is a great one. Most launchers work on tablets.

Funny that they ignore the Nexus 7 lag. 4.4 to 4.2, not a big loss, the iPad Mini lost mostly because of the price. No big deal there.

I barely get 1-2 hrs usage on my Nexus 7 and have gotten as much as 16 hours on my iPad Mini.

Make sure the GPS is off, if not battery life will be poor. Only used mine today for about two hours. Picked it up tonight, and it was about dead. Forgot I left the location settings enabled.
Be sure to go to...
Settings > Location access > Access to my location > OFF

For me, I kind of have to choose devices based on whose services I use more. I used to be all about iTunes on my Mac and being able to sync everything with all my i-devices was a huge perk over Android at the time, but now that Google has integrated everything like Drive, Music, Gmail, YouTube and Voice plus they have a social network I like better than Facebook, switching to Android was the best thing I ever did.

So while I still love the designs of most of Apple's products, I'm just more entrenched with Google services now and there's no use for an iPad or iPhone in my tech arsenal anymore. I think as more people start attaching themselves to such services (be it Apple, Google or Microsoft), they will find it harder and harder to have arguments about whether the iPad is better than such and such Android tablet or the Microsoft Surface and instead will just get what they need for whatever ecosystem they employ for their daily life.

Fair enough, I totally agree.. I was only trying to help out the OP question and stop the apple v android argument continuing.
