I'm reading alot of people posts about different things that makes me know I have no idea what exactly this phones does besides making calls, why is your note the money you paid?

Because it can be used in ways and with apps that other phones offer though not with the ease, stability, and the features of the Notes. Go to a corporate store of the 4 big carriers and try one out. Good luck

No,I have one.i just dont know what all it does.i dont understand alot of it.thats y I asked the question

Okay, so basically first smartphone? Personally I wouldn't have picked the Note 8 as first smartphone for anyone but you already have it.
1. The camera is better than a lot of lower end digital cameras. I have a $200 Sony digital camera at home, granted it's like 5 years old, but it's still a dedicated camera. My old S7 Edge, which has the same main camera module as the Note 8 shoots better pictures.
2. That thing is more powerful than some laptops in terms of processing power. You can connect bluetooth mice and keyboards to it and use it for word documents and powepoint presentations. You can connect it to a TV and it will essentially serve as your computer CPU.
3. There are several apps from the Play Store that makes life easier. I mean I do my entire banking from my phone, transferring money from Paypal and across several banks. I can look at my notes while on the commute. I can watch Netflix from it while on the bed or on the commute when stuck in traffic. You can have Adobe Photoshop on it, Lightroom, and even audio and video editors.

Basically that thing is a PC in your pocket. Sure it can't completely replace a PC, but for something that fits in your pocket, it does pretty well.

Sounds like you just need to spend some time researching your device. The Note 8 is way more than just a phone. Start with this video.

Well the Note series, especially 8 and 9 is basically a very capable pocket pc that just happens to also do phone calls, if I were you I would watch a lot of YouTube videos and learn, watch them on your pc so you can stop and rewind a bit while doing things on the phone, you'll be kept busy for at least a month

The Wacom tech that powers the S Pen is easily worth $100+. It has more processing power, storage, and ram then a lower end PC. The camera minus the lack of a true telephoto lens is better than most any point and shoot camera.

The thing is capable of a lot and has replaced many devices for people.

It's my alarm clock, my fitness tracker, my source of internet, my MP3 player, my video player(stream everything to a TV, have never had cable/satellite), my most used camera, my primary access to social media, I edit photos on it, doodle on it, and somewhere down near the bottom of the list I make calls with it.

I would say it's worth the money.

The Note 8 is basically a mini PC or a laptop. There is the Dex Station which turns your phone into a desktop computer or much like a Chromebook. It's a cradle that can also charge your phone at the same time. There's 3 different versions you can get for the Note 8. So I use that with a bluetooth Samsung keyboard and a regular mouse. The Note 8 can be used as a drawing pad as well with the use of the S Pen using many different art apps. It's more then a smartphone now.... These phones are turning into your every day driver for all things. It's only a matter of time when iPhone goes the same way and the other Android phones... But these are the reasons why the Note 8, S9, S9+ are so expansive now.

It's "perceived value" in my opinion. The Note8 like other flagship smartphones are around $1000 and more nowadays. To some, these devices are worth the money. But that's dependent on many factors: what you use the device for, how you prioritize features/design, personal budget, etc. I have used the Note8 since it's launch and I have loved every minute of using it. Just recently I switched carriers to Google Fi. I now have the Moto X4. The way I use my smartphone hasn't really changed at all since using the Moto X4. The Note8 cost me $960. The Moto X4 cost me $149. So, is the Note8 worth the money? For me, no it isn't.
