Is your Pixel 3 spontaneously rebooting after Android 10?

I have updated to the January security update. There's nothing specifically in the documentation about VPN or anything else I'd think would relate to AdGuard and our reboot issue.

~24 days now with 3 short reboots. Let's see how it goes.

I just got the Jan update yesterday for my Pixel 4XL. Delayed as usual.

How's it going now?

No reboots since January update. 13 days in total since the last one.

I just installed AdGuard again. It's been months. I'm on a Pixel 4 now but that shouldn't matter (knock on wood).

Let the crash timer begin! Hope it runs forever.

---EDIT Jan 20---
I had a complete reboot during a phone call yesterday...

The crashes seams way less frequent, but I got a full reboot ±14 days after the Google Pixel 3XL Jan update.

I still use AdGuard because of the convenience!

---ORIGINAL Jan 18---

I'be been following this thread since few month, since I use AdGuard and have a Pixel 3XL.

I experienced crashes every days.

Since the Jan update and an AdGuard update lastly, I didn't experience any crash.

Thanks to this forum, it helped me to be patient!

Thanks for the update. I had one of the "short reboots" myself yesterday. It's my first since the January update (13 days) and 17 days since my last one overall. That's even longer than the original improvement leading up to the Jan update, but it seems the issue is still not fully resolved.

I use AdGuard nightlies.

I'll keep using AdGuard for the convenience also. I'd prefer no issues, obviously, but it's infrequent enough to deal with.

Can you remind me exactly what a short reboot looks like on the phone? It's just picking up the phone and being asked for a PIN, correct?

Maybe. I'm pretty sure that the Pixels do that occasionally anyway (I didn't realize that until I read it somewhere recently). So, if you're getting that, it may be that it's part of normal operation.

If the short reboot happens while you're watching, you may get a very brief lag and then the Google boot logo. Unlike a full reboot you don't go all the way back to the bootloader screen and the Google screen only lasts a couple/few seconds. Then you'll get the PIN entry screen.

I suppose it's hard to tell if you've had the short reboot or not if you pick up the phone to find the PIN screen. When you do a full reboot, the phone doesn't load up everything until you've entered the PIN. With these short reboots, it doesn't have to do that, so I don't think there's a tell-tale sign that you had the short reboot. I think we should probably assume yes at this point.

I have had phones that do that (Samsung?). I wasn't under the impression that Pixels do it but it could be that I haven't noticed if it's not very often.

Well, I did look at my phone mid-day today and it required a PIN. I didn't see anything happen. It wasn't disruptive. I'm leaving AdGuard installed. If that's the worst of it, I can live with it.
