issue with share via email on my S6

When I click on a photo in gallery, it gives me several options, one of which is share via email. When I choose this the email opens and I can send, but the recipient, just get pages of code not the photo. If I create an email I can attach the photo and it sends. I also get this when i try to forward some photos i receive via email, they just receive code. Am I missing something?
