Issues Syncing with Exchange

We use Exchange 2003 and I had no issues setting it up. I still switched to Touchdown though because the interface is a million times better in my opinion.

+1.

'worked' with the native app and ex03. WORKS with TD and same server.

How the heck did yall get this to work?

My office Exchange 2003 domain is different from the server. Could that be the issue?

Can someone provide some "steps" on how you guys were able to get it to work using the native app and Touchdown app?

So far this is the only letdown I'm having with this "smart" phone.

Can you clarify what you mean by exchange domain being different from the server?

Do you have activesync running on other smartphones and just can't get the droid x to work or is this a new setup?

BTW, the 2nd corporate account does not show on the status bar when there is a new notification. Has anyone else noticed this?

Luckily my Exchange sync is working fine. However the notification on the status bar does not work. I have the Exchange account set to Push and notifications set to sound and vibrate. I should get notification immediately but it never comes. If I open "messaging" I see a badge showing there is an Exchange email sitting there but no notification on the status bar.

Update from last night (as I could have guessed) had no effect on allowing me to make use of ActiveSync. How the $%@# is it that my wife's crappy 1st gen iPod touch can integrate with exchange, and my brand new DroidX can't..?? Seriously...

In email settings, do you have "Notifications" (status bar) checked?

T9, sure i can clarify...

Domain = onename(no.com)
Server = anothername(blahblahoutlook.com)

As far as activesync goes...no clue.

I was able to connect to my works Exchange 2003 using my previous phone (iPhone).

Called Motorola and they had me delete the exchange account and recreate it. Since then notifications are working!

Ok here is my issue. I hope someone can help. Touchdown works polling every 15 minutes.

My company does not have active sync turned on so does mean the native corporate sync won't work?

We use exchange 2007. I have tried every suggestion in this forum to no avail.

So we don't know if active sync is running-just do the standard email setup then.

I'm having a similar problem. I came from a blackberry. I set up my gmail account, but I NEED my school email to work. When I go to "add an account" then "email" then i enter my user name and pw, it just says it dosn't work.

PLEASE someone help, I'm new to Android and it's really frustrating me.

I had the same problem this morning. First of all verizon chambers my plan back to regular email. I had know idea they did this, then i realized i was syncing with wifi on when I cut the wifi off everything started syncing up so if wifi is on u should cut that off then try it. Make sure you are putting in the right info. My regular emails wouldn't even sync up when wifi was on.

T9, standard setup being pop or imap? If yes then no go. Exchange.server is 2003. That's what i tell touchdown but it still attempts activesync.

If activesync is not configured on the exchange server, then you can't use touchdown or the native corporate sync. It sounds like you don't know if it's configured.

How did your iPhone connect? What does your exchange admin say?

Do i have to have the exchange data plan? I thought some of the people here were doing exchange without he extra plan.
