Hey All,

Has anyone else had problems with network connectivity post gingerbread? My phone does 2 things on occasion now that are quite annoying:

1) Data network disappears all together while showing full white bars. I tried putting my phone in airplane mode and then taking it out to see if it resets, but that doesn't work. So, I usually have to restart the phone and it is then fine. This has happened 2 or 3 times this week.

2) Sometimes while on the move if I lose my 3g signal, I end up getting locked on to a full bar 1x signal. I have found that I can either turn the network off to reset it or restart my phone. For example, I get perfect 3g coverage in my apartment, but not necessarily my elevator. Sometimes, when I come into my apt from a 1x area like the elevator, the network doesn't switch back to 3g without a reset.

Very annoying..anyone with a solution?

Try reprogramming your phone (*228 from the dialer, then pick option 2).

I tried that and it didn't help the problem. When I turned off wifi today, it would not reconnect to the network. It showed me 4 white bars but no network icon. I had to restart phone to establish network connection.

Another thing I noticed, when i go to settings> wireless and network settings> mobile networks, the only option I see there now is "System Select"..which gives the options "Home" or "Automatic". I seem to recall more options here before.

Can anyone verify this?

After searching through some other droid x message boards, this appears to be a more widespread problem without an immediate solution. Guess I'm one of the unlucky ones this time..usually updates work just fine for me.

I just checked & those are the only options I have on stock Froyo (2.2.1).
