Issues with Facebook contacts

Ok so I've already tried clearing out the data for the facebook contacts to be removed and it worked, but once you go to click on facebook it brings your friends contacts back to the phone. Is there a way to permanently remove the facebook contacts, but still keep the facebook app on the phone?

If you go to contacts and click "view", you can check which ones you want.

This fb app for droid is horrible compared to the one for blackberry. Hopefully they come up with an update soon..

Where is "view"? Sorry I'm new to the whole smart phone touch screen stuff.

I went to settings and accounts & sync and removed facebook completely, I can still use the app and all that I didn't want the contacts and calendar sync'd.

I clicked view, but I actually had to enable facebook for htc sense and hit done, then go back in and unckeck it and hit done to remove them from my phone. it was in my contacts by default even with it being unchecked...

It has been that way for a lonnnnng time.. I've pretty much lost hope on an update.
